Overview:
Traxxas 4-Tec® Drift delivers the ultimate experience in modern, smooth, drifting action. Advanced TSM® Drift technology makes 4-Tec Drift easy to master and endless fun on the track. Use the included Wireless Module to take advantage of three customizable and powerful drift modes in the Traxxas Link™ app for maximum control.
A new rear-wheel-drive 4-Tec 200 mm platform with clipless Mustang body features an all-new front suspension tuned for optimal drift geometry with over 60° of steering angle. Take your Traxxas experience to a new level with the 4-Tec® Drift!
4-Tec Drift features selectable drift modes to suit your driving style. No matter what your skill level, TSM’s cutting-edge programming makes it easier than ever to drift like a pro.
TSM Drift Mode
Once a driver initiates a drift, TSM Drift Mode interprets their inputs and seamlessly applies just enough steering and throttle assistance to maintain the intended drift angle. The out-of-the-box settings are tuned to accommodate the widest range of drivers and surfaces. It is not recommended to adjust these settings until the driver becomes familiar with the car. As driving skill increases, TSM Drift settings offer innovative new tuning for different surface conditions and driving styles.
Steering Angle
This slider controls how much steering angle the driver can input with the steering wheel. Out of the box this control is set to 50% using the Multi-Function knob on the transmitter. The 50% setting helps prevent drivers that are new to drifting from overturning the wheels and causing an extreme push condition. Steering angle can also be adjusted in the Traxxas Link app.
- STEERING REFLEX – This slider controls how much TSM steering assistance is being applied to maintain the drift angle. This control works like the TSM control found on other Traxxas models except the output is specially tuned for drifting and high steering angles.
- THROTTLE REFLEX – This slider controls how much TSM throttle assistance is being applied to maintain the drift angle. Reduce the percentage for less throttle assist, increase the percentage for more.
- SPINOUT ASSIST – This control detects when the car is heading for a full spinout and automatically enables TSM to intervene and adjust the throttle.
TSM Mode
TSM Mode maintains the same settings as TSM Drift Mode for Steering Angle and Steering Reflex but removes all throttle assistance. This mode works well for drivers wanting to hone their throttle control skills. Spinout Assist and Throttle Reflex are not available in this mode.
Gyro Mode
Gyro Mode mimics the steering assistance provided by a traditional gyro for drivers who prefer that style of drifting. In this setting Steering Angle works the same as other modes, but there is no throttle assistance available. The gyro gain is fully adjustable from 0-100% to suit an individual driver’s style.
Handbrake
When it’s time to initiate a drift, tap the handbrake and the rear wheels lock momentarily to break traction and begin the rotation.
