Overview:
The Value Plane quarter scale Grunau Baby sailplane is a faithful replica of the Schneider Grunau Baby glider that was first built in Germany in 1931, with approximately 6,000 versions constructed in some 20 countries. The full-size Baby was relatively easy to build from plans, it flew well, and the airframe was strong enough to handle mild aerobatics and the occasional hard landing.

The original glider was designed by Edmund Schneider with assistance from Wolf Hirth and Hugo Kromer as a smaller version of Schneider's ESG 31 of the previous year. Incorporating an elliptical wing design based on work done by Akaflieg Darmstadt, it was named after Gruntal, the town where Schneider's factory was located, now Jezów Sudecki in Poland.

The Grunau Baby motorized sailplane kit is a well-designed aircraft derived from the classic vintage training glider. Extremely lightweight, state-of-the-art mostly laser-cut balsa construction. This is a complete airframe kit with laser-cut parts to ensure that they easily fit together.
